Robbie Limon at Wolf Gap Vineyards

Robbie Limon is a versatile singer-songwriter and entertainer with a knack for captivating audiences. From intimate solo performances to energizing festival crowds, he’s been averaging over 200 appearances annually since 2005. His repertoire spans the best of the 1970s, accompanied by his acoustic guitar in smaller settings or with his five-piece band for a nostalgic trip down memory lane. With an uncanny ability to channel the vocal styles of iconic singers, Robbie has wowed audiences in theatrical productions of Hank Williams, Sr. and Buddy Holly, earning rave reviews. His vast music selection and expert control of tempo ensure he’s a hit at any event, from wineries to corporate functions. Darryl Marini at Wolf Gap Vineyards

Darryl is a seasoned musician and performer from Los Angeles, CA, now living in the Shenandoah Valley and now a busy and highly requested performer throughout the Virginias and Maryland. A skilled guitarist and vocalist, Darryl has an extremely versatile repertoire covering classic and alt rock, jazz standards, country, and pop. Connecting with an audience and putting smiles on their faces is his greatest joy!

Joe Martin at Wolf Gap Vineyards

Joe Martin’s musical journey began at age 11 when he started playing guitar, inspired by Def Leppard’s “Photograph.” He quickly became immersed in classic rock and early 80s metal, joining his first band at just 12. Throughout high school, he expanded his musical horizons with the help of dedicated teachers, exploring classical and jazz music and mastering several instruments including piano, saxophone, and drums. Influenced by skilled musicians like Yngwie Malmsteen and Chick Corea, Joe continually pushed himself to excel technically and expressively.
He pursued classical piano at Ithaca College while still deeply involved in the music scene, though he ultimately chose a career in software development. Nonetheless, he continued to create music, releasing his instrumental album “Algorythm” in 1999, showcasing his proficiency across various instruments and musical styles. Despite his successful software career, Joe maintains a passion for music, performing his own arrangements of rock, jazz, and classical pieces in the northern Shenandoah Valley area.

Charlie Allman and Jon France at Wolf Gap Vineyards

Raised in Front Royal, Virginia, 22-year-old Charlee Allman has sung throughout the Shenandoah Valley for 15 years. Her music style ranges from classic/soft rock to country. Her latest musical accomplishment is making season 21 of American Idol.

Jon France is a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, piano, and saxophone) from Front Royal, VA. He picked up the guitar when he was 15 and has been playing in rock bands virtually non-stop ever since. He’s proud to be one of the guitar players who has played with Charlee Allman since she was a young high school student.

Randy Black at Wolf Gap Vineyards

Randy’s musical journey began at a young age, starting with piano lessons at 7 before diving into guitar during high school, where he found his passion for performing live.
During his college years at Radford University, Randy’s musical skills blossomed as he learned the art of improvisation on stage, a skill that has defined his unique approach to music ever since. Over the years, Randy has graced stages as a solo artist and with various bands, sharing his love for music with audiences far and wide.
Randy’s impressive resume includes sharing the stage with legendary musicians such as Levon Helm of The Band, Bob Margolin (Muddy Waters guitarist), and the iconic Leon Russell, showcasing his versatility across different styles and genres.

Come find the “great pumpkin.” Choose from ones already picked or pick your own. Enjoy pumpkin pie, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin bars and pumpkin donuts from our bakery.  Blue Ridge Bar-B-Q, 3 Fires Oven Pizza, and Stir Krazy Kettle Korn will be here. We’ll have a variety of crafters/vendors in front of the farm market and the kids can hop on the cow train for a ride and everyone can enjoy the scenic wagon ride around the farm.

 

Apple Harvest Festival at Marker-Miller Orchards

Shenandoah Heritage Festival

First held in 1970, the annual fall festival is one of the oldest arts and crafts shows of its kind in Virginia. Since launching half a century ago, the two-day event — held each October over Columbus Day weekend — has grown to include dozens of crafters and artisans from throughout Virginia and the Valley.

14th Annual Patsy Cline Block Party

Celebrating Patsy Cline, Inc. and the Patsy Cline Historic House invites you to the 14th Annual Patsy Cline Block Party, a free community event on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 10 AM to 4 PM!

An old-fashioned style block party, staged on the 600 Block of South Kent Street between Monmouth and Germain Streets every year on the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend, the day celebrates Patsy Cline’s Birthday and contribution to American Culture with live music by local and regional musicians featuring Patsy Cline and Country Music!

Evening with Firefall at The George Washington Hotel

Firefall is a 40 year labor of love with three founders: Jock Bartley (vocals, guitar), David Muse (vocals, sax. flute, keyboards) and Mark Andes (vocals, bass). Their layered harmonies backed by driving rhythms transcends many genres from rock to country to AC and brought the band platinum and gold success with such hits as “You Are The Woman”, “Strange Way” and “Just Remember I Love You”.

Evening with John Ford Coley at The George Washington Hotel

John Ford Coley is an American singer, guitarist, classically trained pianist, actor, and author. He is most revered as half of the Grammy nominated duo, England Dan and John Ford Coley.

John has created many memorable hits such as: “Love Is The Answer”, “Gone Too Far”, “I’d Really Love To See You Tonight”, “We’ll Never Have To Say Goodbye Again”, “Nights Are Forever Without You”, and “Sad To Belong”.

Contributions: African Americans in the Shenandoah Valley

African Americans have contributed to the shaping of the Shenandoah Valley for more than 300 years and their influence can be found throughout the MSV Collection. With art, objects, and documents, Contributions tells the stories of those who endured enslavement, resisted oppression, and achieved success. Nearly 40 significant African Americans in the northern Shenandoah Valley’s history—from the 1700s to today—are highlighted in the exhibition.
